Teeter-Totter is a coming-of-age tale that explores the dynamics of platonic teenage intimacy.

Bianca and Daisy, both thirteen, are best friends growing up in Los Angeles. They spend their time roaming malls, riding bikes, hanging out at the park, goofing around in each other’s rooms, and disappearing into their phones. Bianca’s imagination often guides their adventures, and while Daisy is usually down for any harebrained idea, she rarely understands the point and almost always has something to complain about.

Over the course of a day, Bianca leads Daisy through a series of increasingly elaborate rituals: an impromptu modeling shoot in a mall, an attempt to open a portal to another dimension with their bicycles, a search for Uku Pacha—the Andean underworld—via paddle boats at Echo Park Lake, and a cyclical breathing exercise intended to connect them for life. What begins as ordinary teenage play gradually pushes Daisy’s comfort level to its limits, testing the boundaries of their friendship and imagination.
